Vaccinations During Pregnancy Protect the Mother–Infant Dyad and Are Generally Safe

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Vaccination in pregnancy has a critical impact on mothers, foetuses and infants. The aim of this paper was to summarise key points presented by experts attending the 12th Maria Delivoria‐Papadopoulos Perinatal Symposium in March 2025 and further expand and update them.

A vaccination programme combining a live attenuated Salmonella Typhimurium and an autogenous inactivated Salmonella Enteritidis vaccine confers protection and reduces ovarian colonisation with the Salmonella Enteritidis isolate 7A, PT12

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page 395-403, June 2026.
Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SE) can colonise chicken ovaries and contaminate eggs, posing a global risk of human gastroenteritis, often linked to raw or undercooked eggs. Control options for SE outbreaks in Australia are limited; autogenous SE vaccines are commonly used, while live attenuated Salmonella Typhimurium (ST) vaccines are ...

Rapid generation of prion disease models using AAV‐delivered PrP variants in knockout mice

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
We developed a rapid AAV‐based system to generate prion disease models in weeks rather than months. Following systemic AAV9P31 delivery of modified PrP to knockout mice, we achieved brain‐wide expression and successful propagation of both classical (RML) and atypical (GSS‐A117V) prion strains.

CKLF‐like MARVEL transmembrane domain‐containing superfamily 8 (CMTM8) promotes Notch signalling to maintain CD8+ T cell‐ and NK cell‐dependent tumour immune escape

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose The CKLF‐like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing superfamily (CMTM) has an important role in tumour immunity. The role of CMTM8 in tumour immune microenvironment (TIME) remains unknown. The aim was to investigate the relationship between CMTM8 and antitumour immunity. Experimental Approach Lentiviral system was established to

Oncolytic Vaccinia Virus‐HSP70‐shRNA Amplifies Viral Replication, ROS/Autophagy, and Immunity to Fight Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
OncoVV‑shHSP70, a vaccinia virus silencing HSP70, demonstrated potent antitumor efficacy in colorectal cancer cell lines, as well as in syngeneic, xenograft, and humanized mouse models. In cell lines, oncoVV‑shHSP70 promoted viral oncolysis and cytokine production through a self‑reinforcing cycle of ROS‑autophagy. In both CT26 and SW620‑humanized mouse

Hypoxia Exacerbates Periapical Periodontitis‐Associated Pathological Bone Loss via the Hypoxia‐Inducible Factor‐2α‐Calmodulin‐Dependent Protein Kinase IV Axis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Hypoxia exposure activates HIF‐2α, which binds to the Camk4 promoter to enhance RANKL‐mediated osteoclast differentiation, leading to aggravated alveolar bone resorption in periapical periodontitis. ABSTRACT Periapical periodontitis is one of the most common inflammatory bone destructive diseases. Epidemiological evidence suggests that hypoxia exposure,
