Proposal of a new serovar of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae: serovar 15
Veterinary Microbiology, 2002We report on the re-examination of nine Australian isolates of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae that have been previously assigned to serovar 12. In the ring precipitation test, none of the nine isolates reacted with antisera to serovars 1-14 of A. pleuropneumoniae.

Rarely occurring Shigella serovars
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Mikrobiologie und Hygiene. Series A: Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Virology, Parasitology, 1988In addition to the predominant Shigella sonnei, also rarely occurring Shigella serovars have been found in Czechoslovakia: 4 serovars of subgroup A (S. dysenteriae 3, 4, 7 and 12) and 11 serovars of subgroup C (S. boydii 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 lactose-positive, 10, 13, 14 aerogenic, mannitol-negative, 15, 16 and the provisional serovar E 16553).

Mycobacterium scrofulaceum, Serovar Cole
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1989Cole strains of Mycobacterium, originally introduced as M. scrofulaceum serovar No. 44 and later rejected as belonging to M. avium were re-investigated and compared with well-documented strains of M. scrofulaceum. Our data show that the Cole serovar belongs to M. scrofulaceum and should be re-introduced as serovar No. 44 of M. scrofulaceum.

Gonorrhoea in Aberdeen: A Serovar Analysis
Scottish Medical Journal, 1994The serotyping of gonococcal isolates has enabled detailed studies of the epidemiology of gonorrhoea in different geographical areas. This study reports the patterns of infection found in 1992 in Aberdeen and relates these to a variety of clinical parameters.

The pathogenicity and presence of serovar-specific hemagglutinating (HA) antigens of Haemophilus paragallinarum serovar B reference strains 0222 and Spross and field isolates 24268 and 24317 were investigated. Chickens challenged with all strains except strain 0222 showed clinical signs of infectious coryza.

Members of theMycobacterium aviumcomplex are distinguished by the presence of highly antigenic surface molecules called glycopeptidolipids (GPLs) and the oligosaccharide portion of the serovar-specific GPL defines the 28 serovars. Previously, the genomic region (ser2) encoding the enzymes responsible for the glycosylation of the lipopeptide core to ...

Serovars of plesiomonas shigelloides
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, 1994Among 391 P. shigelloides strains, 330 were typable and found to belong to 43 O serovars. The most frequent O serovars were O17 (23%), O32 (7%), O12 (4.5%) and O5, O18 and O44 (3.8% each). The majority of the serovars represented, with almost 300 strains, were sporadically found in very distant countries of three continents (Europe, Asia, America ...
