Substrate Scope Expansion of Tryptophan Synthase for the Chemo‐Enzymatic Synthesis of Non‐Canonical Tryptophans

The substrate scope of tryptophan synthase from Salmonella enterica (SeTrpS) was probed against 28 synthetic indole derivatives bearing aryl rings, N‐methylamino groups, alkynes, and halogens, accessing a broad range of nonnatural l‐tryptophans on analytical scale.

Experimental infection of horses with African horse sickness virus results in overt disseminated intravascular coagulation

Abstract Background African horse sickness (AHS), caused by the vector‐borne African horse sickness virus (AHSV), is endemic to sub‐Saharan Africa and infection results in high mortality in naïve equine populations. Clinical signs include submucosal petechiae and prolonged bleeding post venepuncture indicative of hypocoagulation.

Dihydromyricetin Regulates PANoptosis to Protect Salmonella Typhimurium‐Infected Weaned Piglets

After DHM pretreatment, piglets were subjected to Salmonella infection. Serum and ileocecal samples from the piglets were collected for TUNEL assay, Western blotting analysis, and metabolomics analysis. The results collectively indicated that DHM could protect piglets from Salmonella infection.

Natural Antimicrobial Activity of Nettle (Urtica dioica L.) Leaf Extract for Shelf‐Life Extension of Mashed Potatoes

NLE exhibited strong antioxidant activity, with DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP values of 21.96 ± 0.76 and 17.51 ± 0.90 μmol Trolox/mL, and 5.93 ± 0.65 μmol Fe (II)/g, respectively. Cytotoxicity assessment using L929 fibroblast cells indicated that the extract was non‐toxic at concentrations relevant for antimicrobial application.
