Serum globulins and infection in mongolism [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pathology, 1969
Comparisons are made between a large group of mongols cared for in institutions and their carefully matched controls in respect of (a) serum levels of immuno-γ-globulin (γA, γG, and γM) and (b) the incidence of pyrexial illnesses over a retrospective five-year period.

Chemical analysis of soluble fractions from normal and autolysed rabbit liver by column chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Chromatography on Sephadex G-200 was performed with the soluble fraction of homogenated rabbit liver, which was extracted with 0.1 M phosphate buffer containing 0.1 M NaCl.

Serum protein electrophoretic pattern in dairy cows during the periparturient period

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2018
This study was aimed at the evaluation of changes in the concentrations of serum protein fractions in 10 clinically healthy dairy cows in the period from 1 week before to 6 weeks after calving. Serum was analysed for total protein concentrations, and the

Effect of postbiotic-toothpaste on salivary levels of IgA in 6- to 12-year-old children: Study protocol for a randomized triple-blind placebo-controlled trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2022
BackgroundChildren in mixed dentition are highly at risk for dental caries, which is a major health issue worldwide. Despite their effect in controlling dental caries, using probiotics can be challenging.

Changes in the concentrations of serum protein fractions in calves with age and nutrition

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2014
The objective of this study was to investigate the serum protein electrophoretic pattern of growing calves with changing nutrition, in order to evaluate the concentrations of serum protein fractions for different age groups.

Free serum cortisol during the postoperative acute phase response determined by equilibrium dialysis liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In severely ill patients low concentrations of the corticosteroid binding globulin are typically found; the aim of this study was to quantify directly free bioactive cortisol concentrations in the sera of postoperative cardiosurgical patients.

Immune complexes in blood serum of calves with clinical symptoms of bronchopneumonia [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinarski Glasnik, 2011
Pneumonia in preruminant calves is a multifactorial disease. Infectious agents, the environment, management and the immune status of the calves are all important factors in determining the outcome of an infection.

Ofatumumab in Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody–Associated Disease: A Comparison With Rituximab

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), and compare it with rituximab. Methods We conducted a single–center, observational study including 22 MOGAD patients treated with ofatumumab and 21 treated with rituximab.

FACTORS CONTROLLING SERUM γ-GLOBULIN CONCENTRATION [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1963
Both synthetic and catabolic processes determine the serum γ-globulin level. The rate of γ-globulin synthesis appears to be the primary factor determining the amount of serum γ-globulin. Increase of γ-globulin synthesis (as may occur following immunization or development of plasma cell tumor) elevates the serum γ-globulin level.

Liver Stiffness Directs Intrahepatic Cholesterol Accumulation Through YAP/TAZ in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liver stiffness promotes intrahepatic cholesterol accumulation by repressing LXRα through YAP/TAZ activation. Stiff matrices impair cholesterol efflux in hepatocytes, while YAP/TAZ deletion restores LXRα activity and prevents cholesterol‐induced fibrosis.
