Assessment of serum prostate specific antigen in childhood
BJU International, 2004OBJECTIVE To investigate serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels with age and sex in childhood. SUBJECTS AND METHODS This prospective study included 205 children (123 boys, 82 girls; mean age 59.27 months,

The Effects of Ejaculation on Serum Prostate Specific Antigen
Journal of Urology, 1996We evaluated the correlation of prostate specific antigen (PSA) and ejaculation in patients with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia and an active sexual life.In a study of 40 patients 50 to 60 years old (mean age 55) with prostatic symptoms serum PSA was evaluated before as well as 1 and 7 days after ejaculation.

The Impact of Ejaculation on Serum Prostate Specific Antigen
Journal of Urology, 1993In a pilot study including 18 patients between 20 and 39 years old serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) was evaluated before as well as 1 and 7 days after ejaculation. In 13 patients who had more than 0 ng./ml. PSA before ejaculation (mean 1.44 ng./ml.) there were statistically significant decreases in serum PSA down to 0.17 ng./ml.

Postejaculation Serum Prostate-Specific Antigen Level
European Urology, 1997This study was carried out to determine whether ejaculation may modify the serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level and to investigate whether postejaculation serum PSA may play a role in male hypofertility work-up.Serum PSA concentration was determined before and 1 h after ejaculation in 18 healthy men (group A) and in 16 men with male-factor ...

Background: Recently there has been considerable interest in complexed prostate‐specific antigen (cPSA) as an alternative to total PSA (tPSA). Data regarding the variations of cPSA are limited. We performed a prospective study using different forms of prostate manipulation to demonstrate and compare variations between cPSA and tPSA.Methods: The study

Treatment Of Chronic Prostatitis Lowers Serum Prostate Specific Antigen
The Journal of Urology, 2002We evaluated men with documented chronic prostatitis and elevated serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) to determine whether treatment with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs lowers serum PSA.We retrospectively reviewed the records of 95 men who presented with serum PSA greater than 4 ng./ml.

Prostate-specific antigen superior serum marker for prostatic carcinoma
Irish Journal of Medical Science, 1987A NEW immunoradiometric assay based on a dual monoclonal antibody reaction system (Hybritech-TANDEMR) was used to measure serum levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) in 39 patients with prostatic carcinoma (CaP), in 57 with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and in 14 without prostatic disease.

Serum free prostate‐specific antigen in the diagnosis of prostate cancer
British Journal of Urology, 1997Objective To determine the value of the ratio of free prostate‐specific antigen (fPSA) to total PSA (tPSA) in the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer in a cohort of patients undergoing prostatic transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS).

Evaluation of serum prostate‐specific antigen in urologic cancers
Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1983AbstractSerum prostate‐specific antigen (PA), a new tumor marker of prostate cancer, was evaluated with an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) in various urologic cancer patients and benign prostatic diseases in Japanese. Sera of prostate cancer patients before treatment (n = 27) revealed a range of PA concentrations from 0.12‐23 ng/ml with a mean (± SD) of 5.78 ±
