Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Changes in blood serum protein profile in low-yielding ewes during the periparturient period

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
Background: In high-yielding dairy ewes, metabolic and reproductive processes occurring around the time of parturition and during lactation initiation are accompanied by several changes in blood biochemical parameters, including those related to protein

Proteomic evaluation of sheep serum proteins

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2012
Background The applications of proteomic strategies to ovine medicine remain limited. The definition of serum proteome may be a good tool to identify useful protein biomarkers for recognising sub-clinical conditions and overt disease in sheep.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Association Between Gut Microbiota and Chronic Kidney Disease: A Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization Study in a Chinese Population

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Population differences in gut microbiota composition and related metabolites may influence their potential causal relationship with chronic kidney disease (CKD); however, this relationship remains poorly understood in the Chinese population ...

Conversion of Serum Proteins into Tissue Proteins.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1959
Summary1. Incorporation of S35 and C14 from injected doubly labeled rat serum albumin or globulin into the tissue proteins of rats was investigated. The ratio S35/C14 in tissue proteins varies very little during 9 days after injection of the doubly labeled serum proteins. 2.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

SERUM PROTEIN CHANGES IN RABBITS AFTER CHRONIC ADMINISTRATION OF LEAD AND CADMIUM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2008
The infl uence of lead (5mg/kg b.w) and cadmium (2mg/kg b.w) after chronic treatment of the rabbits on serum protein is investigated. Signifi cantly raised content of the cholesterol, ASAT and ALAT; hypo-albuminemia and hyperbetaglobulinemia of the ...
