Multi‐scale geophysical mapping of the brine and bedrock surfaces along the Dolores River, Paradox Valley, Colorado, December 2023

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, Volume 24, Issue 1, Page 36-49, February 2026.
Abstract Total dissolved solids derived from salt dome–sourced brine in the underlying alluvial aquifer substantially increase with distance in the reach of the Dolores River that passes through Paradox Valley in southwestern Colorado. The area has been the site of salinity control operations since the 1990s to reduce salt loading to the downstream ...

Ultra‐Fast Isothermal Formation of DNA Nanostructures in Culture Media: Application to In Situ Assembly of DNA Origami With Living Cells

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 9, 12 February 2026.
We demonstrate for the first time that DNA nanostructures self‐assemble in situ at 37°C within minutes, directly in cell culture media and in the presence of living cells. The approach enables the formation of 2D and 3D DNA origami structures with human cell lines and induced pluripotent stem cells evolving into cerebral organoids.

Protected Areas and Agricultural Biodiversity Conservation—Do Parks Increase AES Adoption?

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 77, Issue 1, Page 225-243, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Although both protected areas and agri‐environment schemes (AES) aim to conserve biodiversity, the interaction between the two policy instruments is unknown. We investigate the effects of listing a region as a protected area (a regional nature park) on the uptake of biodiversity conservation AES within the region. Using panel data of all Swiss

Surprise and the singular plural

open access: yesAmerican Ethnologist, Volume 53, Issue 1, Page 9-21, February 2026.
Abstract Bodymind diversity, disability scholars argue, contributes to community and to ideals of human flourishing. Phenomenologists like Nancy and Arendt, meanwhile, foreground our human pluralism. But what does it mean to inhabit (and invent) a plural “we” across significant bodily difference? And why is the experience of surprise important to it? A

Self‐directed speech and attention deficit hyperactive disorder‐like behaviours

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychology, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 301-313, February 2026.
Abstract One of the behaviours associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is talking in a manner considered to be socially inappropriate. It follows, therefore, that self‐directed speech, including inner dialogue, will be particularly prevalent among adults who exhibit traits typical of ADHD.
