Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) response to preemergence herbicides
Crop Protection, 2009Abstract Field studies were conducted during the 2004 and 2005 growing seasons in the south Texas and the High Plains of Texas sesame growing areas to evaluate sesame tolerance and weed control following various preemergence herbicides. All herbicides controlled Amaranthus tuberculatus at least 89%, while diuron, flumioxazin at 0.14 kg ai/ha, and S ...

Studies on phenotypic stability in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)
Journal of Oilseeds Research, 2020Sixty genotypes of sesame were studied for phenotypic stability over three season. Genotypes seasoninteraction was significant for all the traits except plant height at maturity. Maximum phenotypic expression for plant height, number of branches, no. of capsules, seed length, seed breadth and oil content was observed in SI. For days to maturity, number

Developing EST-Derived Microsatellites in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)
Acta Agronomica Sinica, 2008Abstract To accelerate the application of molecular markers in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.), expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers were developed using publicly available sesame EST data. A total of 1785 nonredundant EST sets were assembled among the 3328 identified sesame ESTs.

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) tolerance with various postemergence herbicides
Crop Protection, 2001Abstract Field studies were conducted in weed free areas of south Texas from 1994 to 1997 to evaluate various postemergence (POST) herbicides for sesame tolerance and effects on yield. Sethoxydim or fluazifop-P caused no injury to sesame and produced yields comparable with the untreated check.

AGRONOMIC BIOFORTIFICATION OF SESAME (SESAMUM INDICUM L.) THROUGH ZINC FERTILIZATION
Caderno PedagógicoSesame (Sesamum indicum L.), which belongs to the Pedalaceae family, is one of the oldest and most widely used oilseed plants by humankind. The aim of this study was to evaluate zinc accumulation and physiological parameters in sesame plants submitted to agronomic biofortification through zinc fertilization management. The experiment was carried out in

Mutagen induced polygenic variability in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 2004Two varieties of sesame viz. SVPR 1 and CO 1 were treated with two mutagens viz. gamma rays and EMS. In M, generation, a wide range of polygenic variability in the form of micromutations was generated. M, generation shifted the overall mean values in the positive direction in lower doses upto 50 krad of gamma rays and 1.2% of EMS for the characters ...
