GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN SESAME (Sesamum indicum)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1995Mahalanobis D2 analysis was employed to study the genetic diversity of 50 sesame geno types at the Regional Research Station, Vridhachalam during kharif 1992. A wide genetic diversity was observed among the 50 genotypes tested. Based on D² analysis of Mahalanobis, the genotypes were grouped into four clusters.

Triglyceride composition of Sesamum indicum seed oil
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1976AbstractThe fatty acid composition of Sesamum indicum seed oil was determined by gas–liquid chromatography. The percentages of individual acids were found to be: palmitic, 11; stearic, 6; arachidic, 1; oleic, 43; linoleic, 39. Triglyceride composition was calculated from the fatty acid compositions of the native oil and of the monoglycerides produced ...

Correlation and Path-coefficient Analysis in Sesamum (Sesamum indicum L.)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1983Correlation and path analysis involved 40 diverse genotypes of sesamum indicated plant height, branch number, capsule number, cepsule number on main stem, 1000 seed weight, days to full maturity and oil content to be positive association with seed yield per plant. Seed number showed negative non significant association with seed yield per plant.

A Study on Heterosis in Sesamum (Sesamum indicum L)
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1980Heterosis for yield and three yield components, viz. capsules per plant, branches per plant and plant height was studied in 30 crosses involving six varieties of sesamum (Seas- mum indicum L.) Significant heterosis for yield was observed in 13 and 6 crosses over mid- and better parent respectively.
