Sesquiterpene Lactones as Allelochemicals

Journal of Natural Products, 2006
Six new sesquiterpene lactones, annuolide H (3), helivypolides F, H-J (4, 11-13), and helieudesmanolide A (6), together with known compounds, were isolated from polar bioactive fractions of Helianthus annuus cv. SH-222 and Stella fresh leaf water extracts.

Sesquiterpenes

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1973
AbstractOf the 4000 or so terpenoid natural products known today, whose carbon skeleton can be divided up into isopentane units by the “isoprene rule” (C10, monoterpenes; C15, sesquiterpenes; C20, diterpenes; C25, sesterterpenes; C30, triterpenes; steroids; carotenoids; polyprenes), the sesquiterpenes, numbering about 1000, represent the largest single

Hepatotoxicity of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes

Archives of Toxicology, 2017
Public interest in natural therapies has increased significantly over past decades. Herbs and herbal products are extensively consumed worldwide and they are generally considered as safe. However, this may not always be true as many cases of herb-induced liver injury are reported every year.

Elemanolide sesquiterpenes and eudesmane sesquiterpene glycosides from Centaurea hierapolitana

Phytochemistry, 2007
Two elemanolide sesquiterpenes and two eudesmane-type sesquiterpene glycosides named hierapolitanins A-D, were isolated, together with five known compounds, two flavones; hispidulin and jaceosidin, a flavon-C-glycoside, shaftoside, a flavonol glycoside, kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside and a neolignan, dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol from the aerial parts of ...

Sesquiterpene

Angewandte Chemie, 1973

Sesquiterpene coumarins and sesquiterpenes from Ferula sinaica

Phytochemistry, 1999
Further study on the methylene chloride extract of roots of Ferula sinaica has resulted in the isolation of six sesquiterpene coumarins, of which two were new, six sesquiterpenes, including a new one, and a known monoterpene. The structure of the new compounds was established by high-field NMR analysis.
