This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

Chemistry and Bioactivity of the Deep-Water Antarctic Octocoral Alcyonium sp.
Chemical investigation of an Antarctic deep-water octocoral has led to the isolation of four new compounds, including three illudalane sesquiterpenoids (1–3) related to the alcyopterosins, a highly oxidized steroid, alcyosterone (5), and five known ...

Sesquiterpenes and oxygenated sesquiterpenes dominate the emissions of downy birches [PDF]
Abstract. Even though isoprene and monoterpene (MT) emissions of boreal needle trees have been studied quite intensively, there is less knowledge on the emissions of broadleaved deciduous trees and emissions of larger terpenes and oxygenated volatile organic compounds (OVOCs).

This study identifies S100A14 in tumor‐derived exosomes as a key driver of brain metastasis. S100A14 targets PIAS3 in astrocytes, activating STAT3 signaling and promoting immunosuppressive MDSCs recruitment via chemokine secretion. Germacrone, a natural compound, binds S100A14 to disrupt this axis, effectively inhibiting brain metastasis with low ...

Emissions of volatile organic compounds from Norway spruce and potential atmospheric impacts
Published biogenic volatile organic compound (BVOC) emission rates of Norway spruces vary a lot. In this study we combined published Norway spruce emission rates measured in boreal forests and added our new, unpublished emission data from Southern (SF ...

Males of the tropical frog Gephyromantis granulatus carry unique ethyl‐branched sesquiterpenoid macrolactones in their scent glands. Their structure elucidation was performed by GC/MS, leading to the proposed structures of the granolides. A flexible enantioselective synthesis confirmed the structures and allowed determination of their absolute ...
