Sesquiterpene lactones from Achillea crithmifolia

Phytochemistry, 1991
Abstract The isolation of guaianolides rupicolin-A, rupicolin-B, their acetates and a new germacranolide 1β,10α-epoxy-3β,9β-diacetoxy-11α,13-dihydrocostunolide, identified by means of PS DQF COSY and PS NOESY, from Achillea crithmifolia is reported. A flavonoid jaceidin was also isolated from the same extract.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Laserpitium gallicum

Phytochemistry, 1986
The roots of Laserpitium gallicum gave large amounts of the acetylene falcarindiol and four mixtures of sesquiterpene lactone diesters, whose structure was established by spectral data and chemical reactions.

The first sesquiterpene lactones esterified with a sesquiterpenic acid

Phytochemistry, 1981
Abstract From Hypochoeris glabra two guaianolides esterified with an unusual sesquiterpenic acid were isolated. Proton-catalysed rearrangement of the cyclopropane derivative led to a phenolic acid. The structures were elucidated by high-field 1 H NMR spectroscopy. Further guaianolides were isolated from H. uniflora and Lactuca floridana . These

11,13-Methylenation of sesquiterpene exomethylene-γ-lactones: Synthesis of sesquiterpene cyclopropyl-γ-lactones

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1991
11,13-Methylene derivatives of sesquiterpene exomethylene-γ-lactones were prepared by reaction of diazomethane and photolysis of the resulting pyrazoline adduct(s). Variable amounts of exomethylene- and ethylidene-γ-lactones were also formed in the photolysis reaction.

Sesquiterpene lactones of Eupatorium scabridum

Phytochemistry, 1982
Abstract Eupatorium scabridum , a hybrid biotype presumed to arise by hybridization of E. rotundifolium and E. semiserratum furnished anti-tumor sesquiterpene lactones characteristic of the putative parents.

Chemistry of Sesquiterpene Lactones

2018
Sesquiterpene lactones are a class of bioactive plant products that display an array of biological and pharmacological activities such as antimicrobial, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. A vast amount of sesquiterpene molecular structures has been reported, and the largest numbers of these types of compounds can be

Sesquiterpene lactones of big sagebrush

Phytochemistry, 1971
Abstract Samples of Artemisia tridentata spp. vaseyana, tridentata and wyomingensis were collected from various locations throughout the state of Montana and the sesquiterpene lactone content of their leaves were analyzed by TLC. The major lactones present in each subspecies (I–VI) were isolated and chemically identified.
