Sesquiterpene lactones from Carpesium abrotanoides
Fitoterapia, 2009Phytochemical study on the ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Carpesium abrotanoides led to the isolation of two new sesquiterpene lactones, carabrolactone A (1) and carabrolactone B (2). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Artemisia mongolica
Phytochemistry, 2022Twelve undescribed sesquiterpene lactones and seven known sesquiterpene lactones were isolated from the whole plant of Artemisia mongolica. Their structures were elucidated based on the interpretation of NMR, HRESIMS, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Saussurea involucrata
Fitoterapia, 2011Bioassay-directed separation of the ethyl acetate extract from the aerial parts of Saussurea involucrata (Kar. et Kir. ex Maxim) led to the isolation of three new sesquiterpene lactones sausinlactones A (1), B (2), C (3) and six known ones (4-9). The structures were established by spectroscopic data (UV, IR, HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR).

Sesquiterpene lactones from Achillea crithmifolia
Phytochemistry, 1991Abstract The isolation of guaianolides rupicolin-A, rupicolin-B, their acetates and a new germacranolide 1β,10α-epoxy-3β,9β-diacetoxy-11α,13-dihydrocostunolide, identified by means of PS DQF COSY and PS NOESY, from Achillea crithmifolia is reported. A flavonoid jaceidin was also isolated from the same extract.

Metabolism of antimalarial sesquiterpene lactones
Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1990Metabolism of artemisinin derivatives, which are antimalarial sesquiterpenes, appeared to lead to the production of the more polar metabolites in general. Presence of the endoperoxide moiety in the A/B ring structure seems crucial for the expression of antimalarial activity of these compounds.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Pulicaria crispa
Fitoterapia, 2000The investigation of Pulicaria crispa gave a new guaianolide identified as 1 beta,4 beta-dihydroxy-5 alpha (H)-guaia-10(14),11(13)-dien-8 alpha,12-olide (5).

Sesquiterpene Lactones Revisited
1995Sesquiterpene lactones are plant constituents often possessing a bitter taste which are common in most tribes of the Asteraceae (Compositae) and also are found in at least 14 other angiosperm families and to a limited extend in gymnosperms, liverworts and fungi.1 There are more than 4,000 known structures in this class of plant secondary metabolites ...
