A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

A note on ‘Algorithms for connected set cover problem and fault-tolerant connected set cover problem’

open access: yes, 2011
A flaw in the greedy approximation algorithm proposed by Zhang et al. (2009) [1] for the minimum connected set cover problem is corrected, and a stronger result on the approximation ratio of the modified greedy algorithm is established.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

The impact of fractional cover distribution in training samples on the accuracy of fractional cover estimation: a model-based evaluation

open access: yesGeo-spatial Information Science
In machine learning-based fractional cover estimation, the fractional cover distribution in training samples critically influences model construction and, consequently the accuracy of the estimations.

Domination in graphoidally covered graphs: Least-kernel graphoidal graphs-II

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics, 2018
Given a graph , not necessarily finite, a graphoidal cover of means a collection of non-trivial paths in called -edges, which are not necessarily open (not necessarily finite), such that every vertex of is an internal vertex of at most one path in and ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Scalable cover song identification based on melody indexing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, we describe an efficient method for cover song identification focusing our target on pop and rock music genres. The procedure proposed is based on the fact that every pop/rock song has usually a main melody or a easily recognizing theme ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
