An Investigation of Effects and Safety of Pipelines due to Twin Tunneling
To efficiently and accurately predict the effects of twin tunneling on adjacent buried pipelines, the effects of upward and downward relative pipeline-soil interactions were considered.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

A New Modified Peck Formula for Predicting the Surface Settlement Based on Stochastic Medium Theory
Peck method and stochastic medium method are the two most commonly used methods to estimate surface settlement caused by tunnel excavation. However, the Peck method was not suitable for a shallow-buried tunnel, and the calculation process of the ...

STUDY ON THE DYNAMIC NUMERICAL ANALYSIS METHOD FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT
In view of the problems of a single parameter of rock and soil materials, unclear boundary simulation and a simplified dynamic load in the current calculation of pavement settlement, the stochastic finite element-infinite element coupling method was ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Settlement analysis of the large-dimensional shallow foundations founded on sand [PDF]
In practice, a number of methods have been developed for calculating the settlement of shallow foundations on sand, but in general it can be said that there is no standardized calculation method.

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...
