Modelling Mechanical Properties of SPD Materials During and After Severe Plastic Deformation

2006
As SPD yields ultra fine grained and/or nanograined structures, modelling of properties at first requires a proper reflection of grain refinement process. A model of the author originally developed for conventional large strain hardening has been successfully adapted to conditions of extended hydrostatic pressure which appears as one of the most ...

Ultrafine-grained low carbon steels by severe plastic deformation (SPD)

2008
The structure and properties of 0, 14% C and 0, 1% C - B low-carbon steels taken in two initial states, martensitic and ferritic-pearlitic, were studied after cold equal-channel angular (ECA) pressing. ECA pressing leads to the formation of only partially submicrocrystalline structure with a grain size of 150 – 300 nm, depending on the steel alloying ...

Single Roll Drive Equal Channel Angular Process –a Potential Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) Process for Industrial Application

Materials Science Forum, 2006
Single roll drive equal channel angular process (SRD-ECAP) is derived from classical equal channel angular pressing (ECAP). It overcomes the drawbacks of ECAP, which is a discontinuous process and can only process short billets with invariable square or round section. SRD-ECAP, however, can process long billets continuously.

Tailoring particle distribution non-uniformity and grain refinement in nanostructured metal matrix composites fabricated by severe plastic deformation (SPD): a correlation with flow stress

Journal of Materials Science, 2016
The effect of particle distribution non-uniformity on the microstructure and flow stress in nanostructured metal matrix composites produced by severe plastic deformation was investigated. The Al/SiC composite fabricated by accumulative roll bonding was considered as a case.
