SNAPPE-II (Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology with Perinatal Extension-II) in Predicting Mortality and Morbidity in NICU [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Introduction: A number of illness severity scores have evolved which would predict mortality and morbidity in intensive care units. One such scoring system developed by Richardson was SNAPPE-II (Score for Neonatal Acute Physiology with Perinatal ...

How much does an interlibrary loan request cost? A review of the literature [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Interlibrary loan (ILL) services are used to fill the gap between academic libraries' collections and the information needs of their users. Today's trend toward the cancellation of serials "Big Deals" has increased the importance of clear information around ILL to support decision-making. In order to plan the cancellation of a journal package, academic

Does vitamin D deficiency exacerbate hidradenitis suppurativa?

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2023
In this study, we aimed to compare vitamin D (25 Hydroxy Vitamin D (25 OH D)) levels in Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) patients with healthy control groups, and to investigate its possible relationship with disease severity.

Ill/well-posedness of non-diffusive active scalar equations with physical applications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We consider a general class of non-diffusive active scalar equations with constitutive laws obtained via an operator $\mathbf{T}$ that is singular of order $r_0\in[0,2]$. For $r_0\in(0,1]$ we prove well-posedness in Gevrey spaces $G^s$ with $s\in[1,\frac{1}{r_0})$, while for $r_0\in[1,2]$ and further conditions on $\mathbf{T}$ we prove ill-posedness in

Stability and regularization for ill-posed Cauchy problem of a stochastic parabolic differential equation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this paper, we investigate an ill-posed Cauchy problem involving a stochastic parabolic equation. We first establish a Carleman estimate for this equation. Leveraging this estimate, we derive the conditional stability and convergence rate of the Tikhonov regularization method for the aforementioned ill-posed Cauchy problem.

Illness Severity and Treatment Services for Dually Diagnosed Severely Mentally Ill Outpatients [PDF]

open access: yesSchizophrenia Bulletin, 1997
This study of a frequently endorsed, but untested, model of outpatient treatment for persons with coexisting severe mental illness and substance use disorders assessed how the amount of treatment services delivered was related to an individual's global severity of illness, whether different modes of treatment were related to different aspects of ...

Nonlinear ill-posed problem in low-dose dental cone-beam computed tomography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This paper describes the mathematical structure of the ill-posed nonlinear inverse problem of low-dose dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and explains the advantages of a deep learning-based approach to the reconstruction of computed tomography images over conventional regularization methods.
