Sex differences in expressive drawing
Personality and Individual Differences, 2011Abstract We examined sex differences in expressive drawings produced by 105 boys and 105 girls aged 9–15 years. The drawings were classified according to the type of expressive strategy used to depict emotion (literal, content, abstract, or any combination of these), and rated according to the complexity of that strategy.

Genes controlling sex expression
1994The term ‘sex expression’ can have two quite different meanings in plants. On the one hand it can refer to male and female individuals and in this case it can be used only for dioecious species. If it is taken, however, in a broader sense, it can also apply to single flowers in monoecious plants or even to female or male sex organs in a hermaphroditic ...

On the expression of sex dimorphism
American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 1981AbstractA procedure is developed and presented for the calculation of sex dimorphism in quantitative variates. Instead of expressing sex dimorphism by the male X̄/female X¯ ratio, it deletes the area of overlap of the two curves and provides the proportion of males and females in terms of the areas under each curve.

Sex determining gene expression during embryogenesis
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series B: Biological Sciences, 1993The Y-linked geneSryacts during a critical period of gonadal differentiation to divert the normal or default pathway of gene activity that would otherwise lead to the development of ovaries into one that leads to the development of testes. It acts cell autonomously, probably within the cell lineage that gives rise to Sertoli cells in the testis or ...

Specifically, my interest is in how one should deploy their emotions in order to combat patriarchally informed, affective ways of making sense of and responding to the social world. My dissertation consists of the following three papers.

Sex Chromosome Expression in Embryonic Development
1983In this article we shall be concerned with two topics relating to sex chromosome expression during embryonic development: the onset of expression of the X and Y chromosomes during the preimplantation period of embryogenesis, and the cycle of inactivation and reactivation of the second X chromosome in female embryonic and germinal cells. To date, all of

Labile sex expression in plants
Biological Reviews of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1998ABSTRACTThe range of environmental sex determination and sex changes throughout plant taxa from bryophytes and pteridophytes to spermatophytes is reviewed. Lability in sex expression occurs in many plant taxa but only in homosporous pteridophytes is labile sex the rule.

SEX RATIO AND SEX EXPRESSION IN THE CULTIVATED CUCURBITS
American Journal of Botany, 1931Sex expression in the Cucurbitaceae offers many interesting possibilities to the geneticist. In this comparatively large family practically everv type of sex expression is represented from the dioecious species such as Bryonia dioica to those with hermaphroditic flowers represenfted by one species of Melotheria.
