Structure and spectroscopy of doped helium clusters using quantum Monte Carlo techniques
We present a comparative study of the rotational characteristics of various molecule-doped 4He clusters using quantum Monte Carlo techniques. The theoretical conclusions obtained from both zero and finite temperature Monte Carlo studies confirm the ...

ABSTRACT As a commonly used bushing current‐carrying structure in recent years, contactor‐type electrical connection parts operate in a complex environment of electric, thermal and chemical corrosion for extended periods. With the increase of ultra‐high voltage (UHV) transmission capacity, its operating environment faces more stringent challenges, and ...

Comparison of Dielectric Recovery After Arc Burning in SF6 Gas and Its Potential Alternatives
ABSTRACT Although sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) exhibits exceptional insulating properties, it is a potent greenhouse gas. Therefore, studying alternatives to SF6 is critical for developing environmentally friendly high‐voltage electrical equipment.

Electron attachment to SF6 and lifetimes of SF6- negative ions
We study the process of low-energy electron capture by the SF6 molecule. Our approach is based on the model of Gauyacq and Herzenberg [J. Phys. B 17, 1155 (1984)] in which the electron motion is coupled to the fully symmetric vibrational mode through a weakly bound or virtual s state.

ABSTRACT The problem of gas–solid interface charge accumulation is an important reason for distorting the surface electric field and then inducing surface discharge. The temperature gradient distribution formed on the spacer during the operation of a gas‐insulated transmission line (GIL) will aggravate the surface charge accumulation, further ...

800 kV Fast Circuit Breaker: Mechanical Coupling Modelling, Buffer Design and Development
ABSTRACT The 800 kV fast circuit breaker (CB) used in ultra‐high voltage (UHV) converter transformer can reduce the total breaking time to 25 ms. It significantly improves the action speed and breaking capacity of the CB, with promising broad application prospects.

The finite-temperature Monte Carlo method and its application to superfluid helium clusters
We review the use of the path integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) methodology to the study of finite-size quantum clusters, with particular emphasis on recent applications to pure and impurity-doped He clusters. We describe the principles of PIMC, the use of the
