Optimal overcurrent relay coordination: Balancing costs, time performance and generator placement in fault current limiter optimization

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 1431-1448, April 2024.
This work investigates FCL cost minimization through the placement of the synchronous generator location within the network. This will be achieved by implementing JSO algorithm. Restoring the coordination through the FCLs without changing the directional over current relays settings is one goal of this work.

The recent development of protection coordination schemes based on inverse of AC microgrid: A review

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 1-23, January 2024.
The traditional OCR faced many protection performance challenges and miss‐coordination events due to the high DG penetration. Therefore, the main goal of using the voltage value that the relay discovers is to offer reliable relay coordination under high DG penetration.

Microfinance In Nepal: Determinants of Viability, Sustainability and Outreach among Grameen, NGO, and Cooperative Microfinance Institutions [PDF]

open access: yes
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, with 70% of its population below the poverty line. Subsidized national poverty lending programs have failed to attain viability, mobilize savings and reach the poor in significant numbers.

Analysis of resistive SFCL in a test-bed microgrid

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2015
AbstractThis paper tests and analyzes the working capability of a resistive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) in a microgrid. The microgrid is a test-bed, consisting of a conventional power plant, two renewable energy sources in the form of wind-farm and solar-farm as two distributed generation (DG) units and five loads (i.e., industrial and

Study of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Functionality in the Presence of Long-Duration Short Circuits

open access: yesEnergies
In this paper, superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) operation in the presence of a long-duration fault is presented. The SFCL device utilizes second-generation high-temperature superconducting (2G HTS) tapes, which exhibit zero resistance under ...
