Novel Design of a Hybrid Superconducting Fault Current Limiter with Controlled Solid-State Device

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications, 2021
Fault current limiters are essential devices used to protect the power system and its equipment against high levels of fault current, which are growing up due to the increase of new power sources.

Experimental Tests of a Resistive SFCL Integrated With a Vacuum Interrupter

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2016
A resistive superconducting fault-current limiter (SFCL) has been developed using round magnesium diboride (MgB2) wire. The SFCL coil was wound using an interleaved coil arrangement to minimize the total coil inductance. The SFCL coil demonstrated reliable and repeatable current-limiting properties during testing.

Stabilizers for REBCO Conductors for High Performance SFCL

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2023
International audience ; Resistive REBCO Fault Current Limiter (FCL) is apromising solution to the fault current issue in electric grids, whichis not fully satisfactorily solved. But the cost of the Superconducting(SC) REBCO conductor should be lowered to facilitate thedeployment of this innovative device.

A selected ion flow tube study of the reactions of gas-phase cations with PSCl3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A selected ion flow tube was used to investigate the positive ion chemistry of thiophosphoryl chloride, PSCl\(_3\). Rate coefficients and ion product branching ratios have been determined at room temperature for reactions with nineteen cations ; H\(_3\)O\

Application of resistive super conductor fault current limiter for protection of grid-connected DGs

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
Penetration of Distributed Generation (DG) into the power system causes technical problems and bad effects on the safety of the system due to increasing the short circuit levels in transmission and distribution networks. So, there will be miscoordination

Superconducting Surge Current Limiter

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
A superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) for medium voltage networks cooled by a cryocooler was designed, built and tested by the current author. For the construction of this limiter, a high-temperature second generation superconducting tape (HTS ...

Das Infrarotspektrum von matrixisoliertem SFCl / Infrared Spectrum of Matrix Isolated SFCl

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 1984
The new compound SFCl was obtained by UV photolysis of FC(O)SCl in rare gas matrix and by UV photolysis of Cl2/SF3SF in the gas phase. Isotopic substitution verifies the molecular identity. Eight frequencies from three isotropic molecules determine the force constants fSF = 4.30 and fscl = 2.90 102N/m.

Protection system considerations for DC distributed electrical propulsion systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Distributed electrical propulsion for aircraft, also known as turbo-electric distributed propulsion (TeDP), will require a complex electrical power system which can deliver power to multiple propulsor motors from gas turbine driven generators.
