The star formation history of the Large Magellanic Cloud star cluster NGC1751

open access: yes, 2011
The HST/ACS colour-magnitude diagrams (CMD) of the populous LMC star cluster NGC1751 present both a broad main sequence turn-off and a dual clump of red giants.

Bioinspired, Guanidinium, and Indole Modified Poly(glycidyl ether)s as Highly Efficient Vectors for Polyplex‐Mediated Gene Delivery

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 6, 20 March 2026.
Guanidinium‐ and indole‐functionalized poly(glycidyl ether)s were developed as non‐viral gene delivery vectors with tunable hydrophilic–hydrophobic balance. All polymers formed stable DNA polyplexes, while moderate indole content yielded the highest transfection efficiency at low N/P ratios.

Symphysis-fundal height measurements in predicting fetal macrosomia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medicine and Health Development, 2000
The predictive value of symphysio-funtfai height(SFH) measurements in fetal macrosomia was evaluated in a prospective cross-sectional study of 378 consecutive parturients at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Eastern Nigeria over a three

Constraints on a Universal IMF from UV to Near-IR Galaxy Luminosity Densities

open access: yes, 2003
We obtain constraints on the slope of a universal stellar initial mass function (IMF) over a range of cosmic star-formation histories (SFH) using z=0.1 luminosity densities in the range from 0.2 to 2.2 microns.

Prognostic Impact of the Hevylite Assay in Patients With IgG or IgA Multiple Myeloma Treated Within the GMMG‐MM5 Trial

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 116, Issue 3, Page 226-234, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Response assessment during treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) typically relies on immunofixation and serum electrophoresis. However, low levels of IgG and especially IgA paraprotein are difficult to quantify reliably. The Hevylite Assay quantifies the kappa and lambda fractions of IgG and IgA separately and is useful to determine response to ...

Efficacy of a Multicomponent Intervention for Frailty or Physical Function in Prefrail or Frail Older Adults: FRAILMERIT Multicenter Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, Volume 74, Issue 3, Page 658-668, March 2026.
Clinical management of the older adult. ABSTRACT Objectives Frailty is a common condition in community‐dwelling older adults with high health and socioeconomic implications. However, primary care‐led randomized trials have been scarcely tested. Design Multicenter cluster randomized clinical trial.

Fingerprinting Hysteresis

open access: yes, 2004
We test the predictive power of first-oder reversal curve (FORC) diagrams using simulations of random magnets. In particular, we compute a histogram of the switching fields of the underlying microscopic switching units along the major hysteresis loop ...

Nurses' Pain Assessment and Attitudes: A Qualitative Study in a Neurointensive Care Unit

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 31, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background As analgo‐sedation gains prominence, a significant portion of adult ICU patients—including those in neurointensive care units (neuro‐ICUs)—remain awake and conscious throughout their stay. Despite this, neuro‐ICU patients frequently experience moderate to severe pain, highlighting the critical need for enhanced pain assessment.

Slow Frequency-Hopping Multicarrier DS-CDMA for Transmission over Nakagami Multipath Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2001
A novel multiple access scheme based on slow frequency hopping multicarrier direct-sequence code division multiple access (SFH/MC DS-CDMA) is proposed and investigated, which can be rendered compatible with the existing second-generation narrowband CDMA ...
