Performance analysis of cellular DS-SFH systems

ICCT'98. 1998 International Conference on Communication Technology. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.98EX243), 2002
The performance of a cellular radio direct sequence slow frequency hopping code-division multiple-access system is examined. The forward and reverse links that are modeled as flat Rayleigh fading channels are discussed. In base-to-mobile transmission mode, all signals transmitted from a given base station suffer fading in unison; but in mobile-to-base,

Performance of multicarrier DS/SFH-CDMA systems

Gateway to 21st Century Communications Village. VTC 1999-Fall. IEEE VTS 50th Vehicular Technology Conference (Cat. No.99CH36324), 2003
In this paper, multicarrier direct-sequence/slow-frequency-hopping (DS/SFH) CDMA systems are proposed, in which multiple carriers are modulated by the same DS waveform and hopped in frequency according to a hopping pattern. It is shown that the multicarrier DS/SFH systems are superior to the multicarrier DS systems in reducing multiple access ...

Iterative multi-user decoding for SFH/SSMA

2000 IEEE Sixth International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications. ISSTA 2000. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8536), 2002
It has been shown that the capacity of a slow frequency hopped (SFH) spread spectrum multiple access (SSMA) system can be increased by using the joint demodulation and iterative decoding by a hard decision demodulator with Reed Solomon code as a forward error correcting code.

NGC 6822: SFH of its Intermediate-Age Population

EAS Publications Series, 2011
We have monitored, during four years, a 32′× 32′ area of the Local Group dwarf galaxy NGC 6822. Observations lead to the discovery of 30 Miras and 24 semi-regular and irregular variables. When relating the periods of Miras to their age, we find a continuous star formation during the last 3 Gyr.

Bierwisch's analysis as a test of the SFH

Journal of Child Language, 1983
ABSTRACTThere has been continuing interest in the Semantic Feature Hypothesis (SFH) over the last ten years but there appears to have been no experimental study which explores a complete semantic field nor one which uses a cross-cultural sample.

Error probability for bandlimited hybrid SFH/DS-CDMA

Proceedings of PIMRC '96 - 7th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Communications, 2002
This paper derives the average bit error probability (BEP) for bandlimited hybrid SFH/DS-CDMA over an additive white Gaussian channel when overlapping of adjacent hopping bands is permitted in the frequency domain. The numerical results which focused on the gain by overlapping of the hopping bands are presented for DPSK and BFSK modulation/demodulation.

Equalization and decoding in SFH spread-spectrum communications

MILCOM 2000 Proceedings. 21st Century Military Communications. Architectures and Technologies for Information Superiority (Cat. No.00CH37155), 2002
There is an increasing need for tactical mobile radio networks that support link data rates of hundreds of kilobits per second to several megabits per second. If a radio network employing slow-frequency-hop (SFH) spread-spectrum modulation operates at these high data rates, however, the channel is likely to exhibit frequency-selective fading within ...

Frequency synthesizer of short-wave SFH/MFSK system

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 1998
The technology of DDS-driven PLL is introduced and a new scheme of frequency synthesizer which is suitable for SW SFH/MFSK System is presented in this paper. Based on the special requirement of SW communication, a model of the scheme is given and the results show that the frequency synthesizer has small frequency insteval (≤0.1 Hz), short switch pierod
