Shadow education in Latin America: Assembling the jigsaw
Shadow education is a widely used metaphor for private supplementary tutoring, i.e. instruction in academic subjects on a fee-charging basis outside school hours. The metaphor is used because much tutoring mimics schooling.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

AI literacy in shadow education: exploring Chinese EFL practitioners’ perceptions and experiences
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly reshaping education by identifying students’ learning challenges and enhancing academic performance. However, many teachers lack a comprehensive understanding of AI, limiting their ability to fully utilise its

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Research on shadow education is often justified based on Bourdieu’s theory of capital as it is assumed to contribute to social inequalities. This paper focuses on the role of cultural and social capital and on the differences between state- and church ...

Shadows of Bonnor black dihole by chaotic lensing
We have studied numerically the shadows of Bonnor black dihole through the technique of backward ray-tracing. The presence of magnetic dipole yields non-integrable photon motion, which affects sharply the shadow of the compact object.

Shadow of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring
We have studied the shadows of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a Bach-Weyl ring through the backward ray-tracing method. The presence of Bach-Weyl ring leads to that the photon dynamical system is non-integrable and then chaos would appear in ...
