Passing ship effects in shallow and confined water : open model test data for validation purposes

open access: yes, 2022
After successful conferences focussing on specific shallow or confined water challenges, the Sixth InternationalConference on Ship Manoeuvring in Shallow and Confined Water (6th MASHCON) has a non-exclusive focus on portmanoeuvres.

Charge Storage and Dark Photocatalysis in Multivariate Ti‐Based Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The mixed‐linker series of the titanium‐based metal–organic framework COK‐47 enables systematic tuning of photoresponsiveness and (dark) photocatalytic activity, deepening our understanding of structure‐property‐function relationships. Tailored metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer between the secondary building units (metal‐oxo layers and organic linkers ...

Balanced adaptive simulation of pollutant transport in Bay of Tangier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A balanced adaptive scheme is proposed for the numerical solution of the coupled non-linear shallow water equations and depth-averaged advection-diffusion pollutant transport equation.

From Dark Photocatalysis to Photobattery‐Type Operation: A Re‐Functionalized Ti‐MOF for Solar Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ReCl47‐bpy is developed as a solar‐rechargeable, Re‐functionalized two‐dimensional metal–organic framework (MOF) for light‐driven charge storage and dark utilization. Re–bipyridine sites stabilize photoinduced electrons, enabling two complementary configurations: a MOF suspension for long‐lived charge retention and dark H2 evolution, and a spin‐coated ...

Stabilizing local boundary conditions for two-dimensional shallow water equations

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
In this article, we present a sub-critical two-dimensional shallow water flow regulation. From the energy estimate of a set of one-dimensional boundary stabilization problems, we obtain a set of polynomial equations with respect to the boundary values as

Defect‐Driven Charge Separation in Ba‐Doped SrTiO3: Correlating Photoelectrochemical Performance With Dye‐Selective Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ba‐doped SrTiO3 perovskites establish a direct correlation between photoelectrochemical activity and photocatalytic performance. Optimized Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 exhibits enhanced charge separation, photocurrent generation, and visible‐light‐driven dye degradation through defect‐induced oxygen vacancies and lattice distortion.

The contour-advective semi-Lagrangian hybrid algorithm approach to weather forecasting and freely propagating inertia-gravity waves in the shallow-water system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis is aimed at extending the spherical barotropic contour-advective semi-Lagrangian (CASL) Algorithm, written in 1996 by David Dritschel and Maarten Ambaum, to more complex test cases within the shallow-water context.

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Thermoplastic Dielectric Coatings for Flexible Electrodynamic Dust Shields: Structural and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Thermoplastic attachment is introduced as a scalable surface coating strategy to improve the durability and dielectric reliability of flexible electrodynamic dust shields. By embedding chemically modified reduced graphene oxide (CMrGO) electrodes within thermoplastic laminates, mechanical degradation, abrasion damage, and vacuum‐induced electrical ...

The shallow water equations: conservation laws and symplectic geometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1987
We consider the system of nonlinear differential equations governing shallow water waves over a uniform or sloping bottom. By using the hodograph method we construct solutions, conservation laws, and Böcklund transformations for these equations.
