SOBRE UM ESTUDO DA ENTROPIA DE SHANNON NO CONTEXTO DA MECÂNICA QUÂNTICA: UMA APLICAÇÃO AO OSCILADOR HARMÔNICO LIVRE E CONFINADO

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2016
The aim of this study was a didactic presentation of the Shannon entropy in the quantum theory context, followed by application to the case of a one-dimensional harmonic oscillator in its ground state, both in the free case and confined case.

Quantum query complexity of entropy estimation

open access: yes, 2017
Estimation of Shannon and R\'enyi entropies of unknown discrete distributions is a fundamental problem in statistical property testing and an active research topic in both theoretical computer science and information theory. Tight bounds on the number of

Statistical Estimation of the Shannon Entropy [PDF]

open access: yesActa Mathematica Sinica, English Series, 2018
The behavior of the Kozachenko - Leonenko estimates for the (differential) Shannon entropy is studied when the number of i.i.d. vector-valued observations tends to infinity. The asymptotic unbiasedness and L^2-consistency of the estimates are established. The conditions employed involve the analogues of the Hardy - Littlewood maximal function.

Logarithmic terms in entanglement entropies of 2D quantum critical points and Shannon entropies of spin chains

open access: yes, 2011
Universal logarithmic terms in the entanglement entropy appear at quantum critical points (QCPs) in one dimension (1D) and have been predicted in 2D at QCPs described by 2D conformal field theories.

Device-independent Shannon entropy certification

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Quantum technologies promise information processing and communication technology advancements, including random number generation (RNG). Using Bell inequalities, a user of a quantum RNG hardware can certify that the values provided by an untrusted device

Analytical determination of theoretic quantities for multiple potential

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
The approximate analytical solutions of the three-dimensional radial Schrödinger wave equation with a multiple potential function has been studied using a suitable approximation scheme to the centrifugal term in the framework of parametric Nikiforov ...

Estimating Entropy of Data Streams Using Compressed Counting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Shannon entropy is a widely used summary statistic, for example, network traffic measurement, anomaly detection, neural computations, spike trains, etc. This study focuses on estimating Shannon entropy of data streams.

Systemic T Cell Receptor Profiling Reveals Adaptive Immune Activation and Potential Immune Signatures of Diagnosis and Brain Atrophy in Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Epilepsy is increasingly associated with immune dysregulation and inflammation. The T cell receptor (TCR), a key mediator of adaptive immunity, shows repertoire alterations in various immune‐mediated diseases. The unique TCR sequence serves as a molecular barcode for T cells, and clonal expansion accompanied by reduced overall TCR ...
