Gut Microbiota Regulates Systemic Inflammatory Response and Compensatory Anti‐Inflammatory Response Syndromes by Targeting PF4+ Macrophages in Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis (AP) begins with pancreatic local inflammation, leading to the onset of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), followed by compensatory anti‐inflammatory response syndrome (CARS), which causes immune paralysis and higher mortality rate.

A Multi-Temporal Assessment of Urban Growth Patterns in Argungu, Kebbi State, Nigeria Using Geospatial Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
This study employs geospatial analysis using Shannon’s Entropy to quantify urban sprawl over four epochs (2009, 2013, 2018, and 2023) in Argungu, Kebbi state, Nigeria, which is currently facing rapid urbanization.

REDUCING LDPC DECODER COMPLEXITY BY USING FPGA BASED ON MIN SUM ALGORITHM

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ, 2022
Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) code approaches Shannon–limit execution for twofold ‎field and long code lengths. The point of this work is to propose an LDPC calculation for Min ‎Sum (MS) deciphering and playing out its equipment execution investigation

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

β‐Elemene Rescues Radiation‐Induced Enteritis by Orchestrating a Host‐Microbiome Circuit That Fuels Epigenetic DNA Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

Two-dimensional Shannon type expansions via one-dimensional affine and wavelet lattice actions [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 2019
It is rather unexpected, but true, that it is possible to construct reproducing formulae and orthonormal bases of $L^2 (\mathbb{R}^2)$ just by applying the standard one dimensional wavelet action of translations and dilations to the first variable $x_1$ of the generating function $ψ(x_1,x_2)$, $ψ\in L^2 (\mathbb{R}^2)$, i.e., by making use of building ...

A Microgel Platform Enables Site‐Specific Intestinal Delivery of Lactoferrin, Improving its Bioavailability for Targeted Alleviating Liver Injury and Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work first time reports an eco‐friendly desert plant food‐based polysaccharide ASKP microgels which have intestinal site‐specific release properties which can achieve small‐intestine or colon targeting capability via different cross‐linking chemistry.

An Efficient NPN Boolean Matching Algorithm Based on Structural Signature and Shannon Expansion

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
An efficient pairwise Boolean matching algorithm to solve the problem of matching single-output specified Boolean functions under input negation and/or input permutation and/or output negation (NPN) is proposed in this paper. We present the Structural Signature (SS) vector, which is composed of a 1st signature value, two symmetry marks, and a group ...

SuFEx‐Enabled Reprogramming of Flavonoids for Selective α‐Glucosidase Covalent Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selective inhibition of intestinal α‐glucosidase remains limited by poor enzyme specificity and off‐target metabolic effects. Here, SuFEx click chemistry is used to reprogram natural flavonoids into covalent inhibitors with enhanced α‐glucosidase selectivity and controlled reactivity. This strategy enables effective regulation of carbohydrate digestion
