Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Predicting thermal shape recovery of crosslinked polymer networks from linear viscoelasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The viscoelastic behavior of an amorphous shape-memory polymer network and its dependence on time and temperature were measured by dynamic mechanical analysis.

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Shape-preserving quasi-interpolation and interpolation by box spline surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This paper is devoted to the study of shape-preserving approximation and interpolation of functions by box spline surfaces on three and four directional meshes. The properties of positivity, monotonicity, and convexity are considered.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Shape-preserving Knot Removal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
. Starting with a shape-preserving C 1 quadratic spline, we show how knots can be removed to produce a new spline which is within a specified tolerance of the original one, and which has the same shape properties.

Investigation of ultraviolet radiation effects on thermomechanical properties and shape memory behaviour of styrene-based shape memory polymers and its composite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In recent years, shape memory polymers (SMP) have been researched extensively for space applications, such as deployable solar panels and antenna reflectors.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Comparison of Hydrogenated Bisphenol A and Bisphenol A Epoxies: Curing Behavior, Thermal and Mechanical Properties, Shape Memory Properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Hydrogenated bisphenol A epoxy resin was cured using different kind of curing agents, resulting in epoxy networks with better shape memory properties than bisphenol A epoxy networks.
