Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Geometric feature distributions for shape representation and recognition. [PDF]
One of the fundamental problems in computer vision is the identification of objects from their shape. The research reported in this thesis is directed toward the development of a scheme for representing the shape of an object which allows it to be ...

A Shape-Aware Network for Arctic Lead Detection from Sentinel-1 SAR Images
Accurate detection of sea ice leads is essential for safe navigation in polar regions. In this paper, a shape-aware (SA) network, SA-DeepLabv3+, is proposed for automatic lead detection from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images.

Change in mode shape nodes of multiple cracked bar: I. The theoretical study
In present paper change in position of mode shape nodes induced by multiple cracks in bar is studied with purpose to use for the multiple crack detection from measured mode shape nodes. First, there is derived an explicit expression for natural modes in

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Explainable Shape Anomaly Detection of Space Targets from ISAR Image Sequences
Shape anomaly detection of satellites is critical to ensuring their safe operation. With the intrinsic range-Doppler projection mechanism, the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) image sequence has a high potential for localizing and detecting ...

A Highly Sensitive SPR Sensors Based on Two Parallel PCFs for Low Refractive Index Detection
Based on two parallel photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) with D-shape structure, a novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor with low refractive index (RI) detection at near-infrared wavelengths is described.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Biometric Liveness Detection Using Gaze Information [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with liveness detection for biometric systems and in particular for face recognition systems. Biometric systems are well studied and have the potential to provide satisfactory solutions for a variety of applications.
