Arbitrary Optical Wavefront Shaping with Holographic Plasmonic Gap Waveguides
Advanced Optical Materials, 2023AbstractManipulations of free‐space light are usually achieved through various metasurfaces and spatial light modulators. However, an external light source is required to excite these devices, making complete on‐chip integrations difficult. Integrated photonics enables the miniaturization and multi‐functionalization of optical systems by densely ...

Electronic properties of gap nanowires of different shapes
2010 3rd International Nanoelectronics Conference (INEC), 2010The electronic properties of very thin gallium phosphide nanowires of different shapes were studied by ab-initio method using the generalized gradient approximation. We consider four different shapes of nanowires viz. linear wire, zigzag wire, square wire and hexagonal wire. The geometry optimization and the stability of all nanowires were investigated.

Band gap Renormalization in V-Shaped Quantum Wires
Physica Scripta, 2004Summary: In this paper, renormalization of bandgap energy in V-shaped quantum wires has been considered. We have constructed a possible mechanism, in the framework of random phase approximation, for calculation of screened Coulomb potential and the value of the renormalized gap energy. Two possible candidates for this form of confinement potential have

Electromagnetic band gaps from H-shaped fractals
The European Physical Journal Applied Physics, 2006This paper presents a new method to simulate the properties of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) composed of planar H-shaped fractals structure exhibiting multiple band gaps of electromagnetic waves. The FSS sample can be easily fabricated as that of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The electromagnetic characteristics of this H-shaped fractal structure

Compact broadband gap‐coupled shorted L‐shaped microstrip antennas
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2002AbstractA compact variation of a C‐shaped microstrip antenna, that is, a shorted L‐shaped microstrip antenna, is proposed. Several suspended multiresonator gap‐coupled shorted L‐shaped configurations have been proposed to obtain wide bandwidth and high gain. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Estimation of canopy gap size and gap shape using a hemispherical photograph
Trees, 2009Gap size and gap shape are two important properties of forest gaps that can influence microsite conditions in a forest stand and determine the recruitment and establishment of trees. There is no universally adopted method for measuring the gap size, although several options are available.
