Influences of shear rate and loading frequency on shear behavior of geogrid-soil interfaces

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2021
The reinforced soil structures are widely used in road engineering, and the influences of the dynamic load of vehicles on the interaction characteristics of geogrid-soil interfaces cannot be ignored.

Experimental study on tension-shear mechanical behavior of sandstone

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2019
Rock excavation and river incision result in stress unloading in one or more directions, which leads to the redistribution of stress fields of rock masses in the influenced zone.

Effects of Groove Feature on Shear Behavior of Steel-Sand Interface

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Surface groove morphology of structure and particle distribution of soil had a significant effect on the surface friction of structure. In order to investigate the interface shear stress-shear displacement curves, interface model and interface shear ...

Analysis of Cyclic Shear Stress–Displacement Mechanical Properties of Silt–Steel Interface in the Yellow River Delta

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Pile foundations of offshore structures are often subjected to cyclic loads under storm loads, thus reducing their vertical bearing capacity. Therefore, studying the cyclic shear behavior of the soil–structure interface is important for maintaining the ...

Experimental Study on Cyclic Shear Performance of the Four-Way Geogrid Reinforcement–Soil Interface

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents the results of horizontal cyclic direct shear tests at the reinforced soil interface of a four-way polypropylene geogrid reinforced sandy soil. The influence of normal stress and shear displacement amplitude on the shear stress, shear

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

A machine learning-based method for predicting the shear behaviors of rock joints

open access: yesSoils and Foundations
In this study, machine learning prediction models (MLPMs), including artificial neural network (ANN), support vector regression (SVR), K-nearest neighbors (KNN), and random forest (RF) algorithms, were developed to predict the peak shear stress values ...
