Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

Geometric Constraints for Global Regularity of 3D Shear Thickening Fluids
We consider the relation between the direction of the vorticity and the global regularity of 3D shear thickening fluids. It is showed that a weak solution to the non-Newtonian incompressible fluid in the whole space is strong if the direction of the ...

Reexamination of string phase and shear thickening in simple fluids
In 1984, Erpenbeck observed a shear-induced alignment of particles into strings in nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations of hard spheres. Since then, it has remained unclear if this effect was genuine or if it arose from the use of a thermostat which assumed an incorrect form for the velocity profile.

We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...

Bamboo Medical Application: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review
This review presents a structured classification of bamboo's current use in healthcare. It organizes applications into medical textiles and medical devices, with further divisions based on function and level of invasiveness. It also examines material utilization based on bamboo's structural role, highlighting how it supports both protective and ...

Numerical Investigation of an Active Micromixer Utilizing Alternating Rotating Obstacles for Non-Newtonian Fluids at Ultra-low Reynolds Numbers [PDF]
Achieving rapid mixing in microfluidic systems is notoriously difficult at ultra-low Reynolds numbers (Re 90% for all tested diffusivities when the angular velocity reaches 800 RPM. However, the most significant finding concerns fluid rheology: contrary

Shear dependent electrical property of conductive shear thickening fluid
Abstract Conductive shear thickening fluid (C-STF) consisting of SiO2 particles, carbon nanotube (CNT) and ethyl glycol (EG) was developed. The shear thickening effect of C-STF was strengthened with the increasing CNT mass fraction. Different from the traditional shear thickening fluid (STF), the as-prepared C-STF showed unique electrical property ...

Fabrication, characterisation and optimisation of shear thickening fluids
This thesis focuses on quantifying the effect of ingredients within shear thickening fluids (STFs) with resultant rheological behaviours for their potential use in practical applications. This was done by firstly using steady shear testing to measure the
