CuInSe2/ZnS quantum dots are synthesized in water and coupled with chlorophyll to probe ligand‐controlled excited‐state interactions. Broad visible–NIR emission and high PLQY are observed. Time‐resolved measurements reveal shortened chlorophyll lifetimes, indicating dynamic quenching via Förster energy and/or charge transfer, highlighting surface ...

An all‐in‐fiber broadband polarization photodetector is demonstrated by integrating a PdSe2/2H‐MoTe2 van der Waals heterostructure onto a fiber endface. The device exhibits broadband response spanning 532 nm to 1630 nm, a fast response time of 59 µs, and a polarization ratio of 1.99. This work demonstrates a promising hardware strategy for polarization

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

Sheet-Bulk Metal Forming of Preformed Sheet Metal Parts
Key Engineering Materials, 2011Due to ecological and economic challenges there is a rising demand on closely-tolerated complex functional components. Regarding short process chains and improved mechanical properties conventional forming processes are often limited. A promising approach to meet these requirements can be seen in the combination of traditional sheet and bulk metal ...

A Review on Electromagnetic Sheet Metal Forming of Continuum Sheet Metals
SAE International Journal of Materials and Manufacturing, 2019<div>Electromagnetic forming (EMF) is a high-speed impulse forming process developed during the 1950s and 1960s to acquire shapes from sheet metal that could not be obtained using conventional forming techniques. In order to attain required deformation, EMF process applies high Lorentz force for a very short duration of time.

Algorithms for sheet metal nesting
IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, 2001This paper discusses the problem of minimizing the cost of sheet metal punching when nesting (batching) orders. Although the problem is NP-complete, the solution to a linear programming relaxation yields an efficient heuristic. This paper analyzes the heuristic's worst-case performance and discusses experimental results that demonstrate its ability to ...

Flexibly Rolled Sheet Metal and Its Use in Sheet Metal Forming
Advanced Materials Research, 2005Light weight construction is a construction philosophy which aims at maximum weight reduction. Reasons for light weight construction can be very diverse. One main cause can be to improve fuel efficiency. This can be achieved by use of load optimised sheet thicknesses. Another reason can be the increasing demands on crash performances by optimisation of
