Stability of charged thin shells
In this article we study the mechanical stability of spherically symmetric thin shells with charge, in Einstein-Maxwell and Einstein-Born-Infeld theories.

Self-gravitating fluid shells and their non-spherical oscillations in Newtonian theory [PDF]
We summarize the general formalism describing surface flows in three-dimensional space in a form which is suitable for various astrophysical applications.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Modern fracture mechanics for structural optimization with incomplete information [PDF]
Questions described in this paper are concerned with the shape optimization of brittle or quasi-brittle (axisymmetric) elastic shells. These questions take into consideration the possibilities of crack arising and damage accumulation in the process of

The Ultraviolet flash accompanying GRBs from neutron-rich internal shocks
In the neutron-rich internal shocks model for Gamma-ray Burts (GRBs), the Lorentz factors (LFs) of ions shells are variable, so are the LFs of accompanying neutron shells.

Chandra Observation of the Radio Source / X-ray Gas Interaction in the Cooling Flow Cluster Abell 2052 [PDF]
We present a Chandra observation of Abell 2052, a cooling flow cluster with a central cD that hosts the complex radio source 3C 317. The data reveal ``holes'' in the X-ray emission that are coincident with the radio lobes.

The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...
