Shafranov-shift destabilization of ballooning-type micro-instabilities
Nuclear FusionContrary to common wisdom, we argue that the Shafranov shift is destabilizing for the ambient ballooning-type instabilities, which account for most of the transport flux in tokamak core plasmas.
