Finite-type-Dyck shift spaces

We study some basic properties of sofic-Dyck shifts and finite-type-Dyck shifts. We prove that the class of sofic-Dyck shifts is stable under proper conjugacies. We prove a Decomposition Theorem of a proper conjugacy between edge-Dyck shifts into a sequence of Dyck splittings and amalgamations.

A one-sided (resp. two-sided) shift of finite type of dimension one can be described as the set of infinite (resp. bi-infinite) sequences of consecutive edges in a finite-state automaton. While the conjugacy of shifts of finite type is decidable for one-sided shifts of finite type of dimension one, the result is unknown in the two-sided case.

Flow equivalence and orbit equivalence for shifts of finite type and isomorphism of their groupoids [PDF]

We give conditions for when continuous orbit equivalence of one-sided shift spaces implies flow equivalence of the associated two-sided shift spaces. Using groupoid techniques, we prove that this is always the case for shifts of finite type.
