Real-Life Optimum Shift Scheduling Design

open access: yesJournal of ICT Research and Applications, 2019
In many industries, manpower shift scheduling poses problems that require immediate solutions. The fundamental need in this domain is to ensure that all shifts are assigned to cover all or as many jobs as possible. The shifts should additionally be planned with minimum manpower utilization, minimum manpower idleness and enhanced adaptability of ...

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

Cumulative exposure to shift work and sickness absence: associations in a five-year historic cohort

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2017
Background Exposure to shift work has been associated with negative health consequences, although the association between shift work and sickness absence remains unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate associations between cumulative exposure to

Shift Scheduling of Short Time Workers in Large-Scale Home Improvement Center by using Cooperative Evolution

open access: yesMendel, 2017
There are a lot of large-scale Home Improvement Center (HIC) in Japan. In the large-scale HIC, about hundred short time workers are registered. And about forty workers are working every day. A manager creates a monthly shift schedule. The manager selects

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.
