Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Shock capturing for discontinuous Galerkin methods
This work is devoted to solve scalar hyperbolic conservation laws in the presence of strong shocks with discontinuous Galerkin methods (DGM). A standard approach is to use limiting strategies in order to avoid oscillations in the vicinity of the shock. Basically, these techniques reconstruct the solution with a lower order polynomial in those elements ...
