Engineering of marker‐free lettuce chloroplast genome to express CTB‐Exenatide and CTB‐Lixisenatide for oral delivery. Upper panel: Chemically synthesised exenatide or lixisenatide require expensive production, purification, refrigeration and invasive delivery methods.

Rooting Conifer Genetic Research: An Accessible and Efficient Transformation System
ABSTRACT Conifers serve as the cornerstone of global forest ecosystems, yet their genetic transformation faces notorious challenges. To overcome the intrinsic resistance of conifer adventitious roots to Agrobacterium/Rhizobium‐mediated transformation, we systematically and iteratively engineered the binary vector by introducing chimeric Ri plasmid ...

ABSTRACT Heat stress significantly damages crop yield and quality. PLATZ (PLANT A/T‐RICH SEQUENCE‐AND ZINC‐BINDING PROTEIN) transcription factors play pivotal roles in plant growth, development, and environmental stress responses. While the functions of PLATZ members in response to drought and salt stress are well characterised, their roles in heat ...

Genetics of Shoot Meristem and Shoot Regeneration
Annual Review of Genetics, 2021Plants exhibit remarkable lineage plasticity, allowing them to regenerate organs that differ from their respective origins. Such developmental plasticity is dependent on the activity of pluripotent founder cells or stem cells residing in meristems. At the shoot apical meristem (SAM), the constant flow of cells requires continuing cell specification ...

Shoot regeneration in root cultures of Solanaceae
Plant Cell Reports, 1983Root cultures from several species of the Solanaceae were initiated and subcultured on Murashige and Skoog medium without growth regulators. Direct shoot regeneration was observed in four different species. The effect of several concentrations of auxin (IAA) and cytokinins (BAP, zeatin) on the number of shoots generated by two highly responsive species

Regeneration of cassava plants via shoot organogenesis
Plant Cell Reports, 1998A novel regeneration system based on direct shoot organogenesis is described for cassava. Plants could be regenerated at high frequency by inducing shoot primordia on explants derived from cotyledons of cassava somatic embryos. After a passage on elongation medium, the regenerated shoots were easily rooted in hormone-free medium and could be ...

Shoot regeneration from Glycine canescens tissue cultures
Plant Cell Reports, 1983Shoots were reproducibly obtained from calli of both cotyledons and hypocotyls of Glycine canescens, a species related to soybean. A few shoots were also obtained from suspension cultures initiated from the callus tissues. Root formation was observed infrequently so no complete plants were recovered.

Multiple Shoot Regeneration from Young Shoots of Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus)
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 2004A method was developed to initiate multiple shoots from the young shoot of kenaf. Young shoots along with the cotyledons were excised from ten-day old aseptically germinated seeds and pre-cultured for two weeks in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with benzyl adenine (BA) or a combination of BA and kinetin.
