Online short-term solar power forecasting [PDF]

open access: yesSolar Energy, 2009
This paper describes a new approach to online forecasting of power production from PV systems. The method is suited to online forecasting in many applications and in this paper it is used to predict hourly values of solar power for horizons of up to 36 h.

Short-Term Load Forecasting [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the IEEE, 1988
Some of the decision and control functions discussed in this book require knowledge of future load behavior. In unit commitment, for example, hourly system loads for the next 24–72 hours are required. Some unit commitment programs even require knowledge of future loads for the next week, i.e., 168 hours.

Solar Radiation Forecasting Based on the Hybrid CNN-CatBoost Model

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
The renewable energy industry is rapidly expanding due to environmental pollution from fossil fuels and continued price hikes. In particular, the solar energy sector accounts for about 48.7% of renewable energy, at the highest production ratio ...

Hybrid Techniques for Short Term Load Forecasting

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2023
Short Term Load Forecasting (STLF) is the projection of system load demands for the next day or week. Because of its openness in modeling, simplicity of implementation, and improved performance, the ANN-based STLF model has gained traction.

Short-term forecasts of expected deaths [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2021
Significance We introduce a simple but powerful method for analyzing mortality after a major shock. We apply the method to show, more conclusively than up to now, that Denmark, which imposed a lockdown during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, suffered considerably lower risks of death than Sweden, which did not impose a lockdown ...
