Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Experimental and theoretical study on numerical density evolution of short fatigue cracks

open access: yesActa Mechanica Sinica/Lixue Xuebao, 1995
Fatigue testing was performed using a kind of triangular shaped specimen to obtain the characteristics of numerical density evolution for short cracks at the primary stage of fatigue damage. The material concerned is a structural alloy steel.

Simulations and experiments of stochastic characteristics for collective short fatigue cracks in steels

open access: yesFatigue and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures, 2002
Stochastic characteristics prevail in the process of short fatigue crack progression. This paper presents a method taking into account the balance of crack number density to describe the stochastic behaviour of short crack collective evolution.

Fatigue Crack Propagation of Short Cracks

Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 1979
Previous studies have shown that both threshold stress intensity factors and fatigue crack growth rates are dependent on crack size. The average growth rates for very short cracks considerably exceed those given by conventional stress intensity-crack growth laws fitted to long crack data.
