Short-term hearing fluctuation in Meniere's disease

International Journal of Audiology, 2009
This study aimed to assess the extent and implications of short-term hearing fluctuation in Meniere's disease. Thirty-six subjects diagnosed with Meniere's were recruited to measure their own hearing using in-situ audiometry via a hearing aid (Widex Diva) and a portable programmer (SP3).

Fluctuating arrivals of short-range acoustic data

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011
Geoacoustic inversion using fluctuating signal observations can be challenging. The origin of these fluctuations needs to be understood so the signals can be used appropriately. A set of experiments [Tang et al., Oceanogr. 20(4), 156–167 (2007)] was carried out in shallow water near the New Jersey shelf break in summer 2006. Significant fluctuations in

Traffic estimation with short-term fluctuating component

Networks 2008 - The 13th International Telecommunications Network Strategy and Planning Symposium, 2008
Technical Findings: Even if the sum of peak rates are same, the estimation of maximum traffic volume is different. If the traffic with high peak rates exists, the maximum traffic volume tends to be big since the variance is high. When all peak rates are ?, the maximum traffic volume takes the trivial upper bound.

Short-Period Intensity Fluctuations of Integral Sunlight

Solar Physics, 1981
An attempt has been made to detect short-period solar luminosity fluctuations in the vicinity of 5 min, analogous to the observed velocity oscillation. Using silicon photodiodes to monitor integral sunlight, an upper limit for the amplitude of the intensity fluctuations of 3 x 10-5 rms was found.

Filtering short term fluctuations in inflation analysis

İktisat İşletme ve Finans, 2012
Many economic time series, specifically inflation, are subject to seasonal fluctuations. Seasonal adjustment is a powerful tool for removing such fluctuations. Meanwhile, seasonal adjustment may provide highly volatile series, as it deals with certain type of movements completed on seasonal frequencies. However, short term fluctuations occurring at non-

Quantum conductance fluctuations and classical short-path dynamics

Physical Review B, 1995
We present numerical results for ballistic-electron quantum transport through weakly open integrable circle and chaotic stadium billiards. The geometry of the pair of conducting leads is chosen in accordance with recent experiments for semiconductor microstructures [Marcus [ital et] [ital al]., Phys. Rev. Lett. [bold 69], 506 (1992)].

Learning effect, short-term fluctuation, and long-term fluctuation in frequency doubling technique

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000
To evaluate short-term and long-term fluctuations and learning effects in healthy subjects tested with the frequency doubling technique, which is based on a low spatial frequency and a high temporal frequency stimulus.Twenty-three healthy adult subjects were consecutively recruited from volunteers, and 20 subjects finished the study.

Short-Term Fluctuations in Petroleum Consumption

Applied Statistics, 1953
In this article Mr Butler not only shows how he has evolved a method of estimating the trend in petroleum consumption but also expresses the uncertainty in the resulting forecasts by giving limits within which short‐term fluctuations may be expected to lie.
