Exposure to artificial light at night (ALAN), particularly at blue wavelengths, disrupts circadian rhythms by suppressing melatonin, thereby increasing cancer susceptibility. This systematic review consolidates evidence linking prolonged ALAN exposure to an elevated risk of breast and prostate tumors.

RAD51 and RAD51 paralog inhibition sensitizes nonreplicating quiescent keratinocytes to UV radiation
UV radiation and other compounds generate DNA adducts that block transcription and induce cell death if not removed by the nucleotide excision repair system. In this work, we used a small‐scale pharmacological screen to discover that inhibition of the recombinase RAD51 sensitized nonreplicating quiescent keratinocytes to both UVR and other agents that ...

Predictions for Sparse Photometry of Jupiter-family Comet Nuclei in the LSST Era
The Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) at Vera C. Rubin Observatory will deliver high-quality, temporally sparse observations of millions of solar system objects on an unprecedented scale.

Dynamics of long period comets
The appearance of Halley's Comet in 1985 to 1986 and the related emphasis on research on physical models of cometary nuclei, led to a more moderate pace for the dynamical studies of the Oort cloud and the motion of long-period comets this year.

Приводится краткая история кометной космогонии. Критически рассмотрены: эруптивная гипотеза, гипотеза о реликтовом происхождении комет и гипотеза о генетической связи комет с трансплутоновыми планетами.

The Revo‐Evo Debate in the History and Philosophy of Science
The paper juxtaposes revolutionary and evolutionary positions in epistemology in general as well as the history of science. While it deems the evolutionary arguments more persuasive, it also stresses the dependence of our assessment of change on the language we choose to describe the theories and positions under consideration.

Origins of Solar Systems Workshop: The Origin, Evolution, and Detectability of Short Period Comets
The origin of the short period comets (SPC) (periods less than 200 years), the dynamical formation of their present reservoir(s), the cause and rate of their transport to the inner planetary region where they can be detected, and the magnitude of ...
