The PagDMG6341–PagWD40–PagPOLD4 Module Coordinates Base Excision Repair in ‘84K’ Poplar (Populus alba × P. glandulosa)

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 2956-2969, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Base excision repair (BER) is a critical pathway for repairing damaged DNA bases in cells; however, the mechanisms of protein recruitment and interaction in this pathway remain largely unexplored in higher plants. In this study, we used ‘84K’ poplar (Populus alba × P.

The Detection of Transient Subduction Zone Interface Properties Using Teleseismic Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract The physical properties of subduction zone interfaces govern the transition between stable aseismic slip, episodic slow slip events (SSEs), and large earthquakes. Ultraslow velocity layers (USVLs) along the megathrust are commonly interpreted as indicators of elevated pore‐fluid pressures that promote slow slip, but their temporal variability ...

Asymmetrically Distributed Kelvin‐Helmholtz Instability at Venusian Magnetosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract The asymmetric distribution of Kelvin‐Helmholtz (KH) instability at Venusian ionopause is investigated using a multifluid model. Results show that KH instability distributes asymmetrically, preferentially developing in the −E (anti‐parallel to the interplanetary electric field) hemisphere.

Impact of Seasonal Composition on the Long‐Term Performance of Post‐Consumer Recycled Polypropylene

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 15, April 15, 2026.
Ten batches of post‐consumer polypropylene recyclate were examined over a period of 15 months. Despite identical MFR and density specifications, there were significant differences in their composition, affecting mechanical performance. Elongation at break and crack resistance varied particularly strongly.

SPHEREx Pre-perihelion Mapping of H2O, CO2, and CO in Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
From 2025 August 1 to August 15 UT, the SPHEREx spacecraft observed interstellar object 3I/ATLAS. Using R = 40–130 spectrophotometry at λ = 0.7–5 μ m, lightcurves, spectra, and imaging of 3I were obtained.

The Dust Environment of Short Period Comets

open access: yes, 2013
In this work we present a characterization of the dust environment of various Short Period Comets, with the purpose to improve the knowledge on their physical properties. Among this comet family members, we focused over 30P/Reinmuth 1, 78P/Gehrels 2, 123P/West-Hartley and P/2011 W2 (Rinner).
