Simulation of cluster point processes without edge effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The usual direct method of simulation for cluster processes requires the generation of the parent point process over a region larger than the actual observation window, since we have to allow for all possible parents giving rise to observed daughter ...

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

On Schottky Noise and Shot Noise

open access: yes, 2018
Schottky noise is a common term widely acknowledged by the community of accelerators, especially of circular machines. It is referred to the incoherent signal arising from the circulating charged particles in the accelerator. The noise is named after W.

An Epigenetic Fate Converter Based on Nuclei‐Targeting Lipid Nanoparticles Drives Neuronal Programming of Stem Cells for Spinal Cord Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of LNP‐MPG nuclei‐targeting delivery of HMW‐FGF2 promoting histone acetylation to regulate the fate of DPSCs and treat spinal cord injury. LNPs components include pHMW‐FGF2 plasmid, DSPC, Dlin‐MC3‐DMA, cholesterol, and PEG2000, and are modified with MPG to form HMW‐FGF2@LNP‐MPG (HLM). HLM nuclei‐targets DPSCs to deliver HMW‐FGF2,

Complementary-View SAR Target Recognition Based on One-Shot Learning

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The consistent speckle noise in SAR images easily interferes with the semantic information of the target. Additionally, the limited quantity of supervisory information available in one-shot learning leads to poor performance.

Dynamical systems forced by shot noise as a new paradigm in the interest rate modeling [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we give a generalized model of the interest rates term structure including Nelson-Siegel and Svensson structure. For that we introduce a continuous m-factor exponential-polynomial form of forward interest rates and demonstrate its ...

Oligoethylene Glycol Side‐Chain Engineering of Y6‐Derived Nonfullerene Acceptors for Thermally Induced Spontaneous Pseudo‐Planar Heterojunction Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
OEG‐functionalized Y6‐derived acceptors induce thermally driven vertical phase separation, enabling pseudo‐planar heterojunction organic photodetectors. The resulting PM6:YTEG‐4F and PM6:YTEG‐4Cl organic photodetectors suppress dark current density by approximately 260‐fold and 210‐fold, respectively, while maintaining efficient photoresponse ...

Localization and shot noise in quantum nanostructures

open access: yes, 2011
We present an investigation with a quantum model of shot noise suppression in a series of cascaded barriers, showing that the well-known diffusive limit reported in the literature on the basis of semiclassical models can be achieved only in the presence ...

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges
