Knee Pain Predicts Subsequent Shoulder Pain and the Association Is Mediated by Leg Weakness: Longitudinal Observational Data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative [PDF]
Objective: To assess whether the ‘spread’ of joint pain is related to pain-associated muscle loss in one joint leading to increased loading and subsequent pain in other joints.

Quasi‐solid‐state calcium‐ion batteries (QSSCIBs) employing redox‐active covalent organic frameworks (COFs) based electrolytes are developed. The COFs’ crystalline porous structures, featuring aligned carbonyl groups, enabled high Ca2⁺ conductivity, supported by molecular dynamics simulations of the ion transport mechanism.

Like Father, like son: assessment of the morphological affinities of a.l. 288-1 (a. afarensis), sts 7 (a. africanus) and omo 119-73-2718 (australopithecus sp.) through a three-dimensional shape analysis of the shoulder joint [PDF]
The postcranial evidence for the Australopithecus genus indicates that australopiths were able bipeds; however, the morphology of the forelimbs and particularly that of the shoulder girdle suggests that they were partially adapted to an arboreal ...

Traditionally considered sterile, the articular cavity is now recognized to harbor microbial communities influencing osteoarthritis (OA). Integrating 16S rRNA sequencing and culturomics, Micrococcus luteus is enriched in advanced OA. Notably, M. luteus G18 exacerbates cartilage degeneration via TLR2/JNK/AP‐1‐mediated ECM disruption, revealing intra ...

Protease‐activated plasmonic nanosensors are demonstrated to noninvasively monitor antitumor T cell activity in tumors with anatomical information upon adoptive T cell transfer via ultrasound‐guided photoacoustic imaging. These nanosensors are actuated by granzyme B, a protease secreted by activated cytotoxic T cells during tumor cell killing, which ...
