Refractory Pericardial Effusion Secondary to Central Hypothyroidism due to Empty Sella Syndrome: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Refractory pericardial effusion with a low free T4 but inappropriately normal TSH should prompt evaluation for central hypothyroidism, including pituitary MRI to identify treatable causes such as empty sella syndrome. Glucocorticoid cover must precede levothyroxine to prevent adrenal crisis in patients with possible hypopituitarism.

Kidney function and shrunken pore syndrome - epidemiological results and methodological issues

open access: yes
Background: Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a key indicator of kidney function, typically estimated using creatinine or cystatin C. When cystatin-C-based eGFR is markedly lower than creatinine-based eGFR, this discrepancy may reflect a selective ...

Case Report: Recurrent Complicated Urinary Tract Infection in Prune Belly Syndrome With Solitary Functioning Kidney

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Recurrent UTIs in prune belly Syndrome with a markedly reduced renal function pose significant renal injury risk. Normal creatinine can mask underlying damage. Long‐term, multidisciplinary follow‐up is crucial, especially in low‐resource settings, to preserve renal function and improve patient outcomes.

Long Term Follow Up of Hereditary Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura on Plasma Therapy for 9 Years: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT A 7.6‐year‐old boy with hTTP had fever‐induced hemorrhagic rash, MAHA, cerebral infarction, and renal impairment. After plasma therapy, symptoms were partially relieved; 9‐year follow‐up showed regular plasma transfusion was needed, with CKD Stage 3.

Model‐Based Analysis with Mechanistic Insights to CAR‐T‐Cell Therapy Kinetics: Case Study with Axicabtagene Ciloleucel and Brexucabtagene Autoleucel

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 4, Page 1027-1040, October 2026.
Model‐informed drug development is increasingly used to support chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)‐T‐cell therapy programs. However, most population pharmacokinetic (PK) CAR‐T‐cell models available in literature are variations of an empirical piecewise‐linear model, which accurately describes the observed data but lacks a mechanistic foundation.
