General‐Purpose Hexagonal Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuit with a >30 GHz Free Spectral Range

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A compact and low insertion loss programmable photonic circuit is demonstrated based on a 7‐cell hexagonal waveguide mesh with a large free spectral range (FSR) of 31 GHz for a 6‐gate ring resonator configuration. Vernier rings and a dual‐injected ring configuration are demonstrated on this circuit with a further improved FSR of 93 GHz.

A filter design approach to maximize ampacity of cables in nonsinusoidal power systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents an optimal design of the C-type passive filters for the effective utilization of the power cables under nonsinusoidal conditions based on maximization of the harmonic derating factor (HDF) of a power cable, where maintaining the load ...

A green solvent processable, self‐doped N‐annulated perylene butyl tetraester applied as a solar cell cathode interlayer

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
A new organic molecular cathode interlayer is presented built upon the perylene butyl tetraester scaffold. The new molecule incorporates N‐annulation and a functional amine group to control optical, electrochemical and physical properties and delivers excellent solar cell performance. Abstract We report a new amino‐bay‐substituted, N‐annulated perylene

Model Predictive Current Control for Low-Cost Shunt Active Power Filter

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
Performance of a three-phase shunt active power filter (SAPF) relies on the capability of the controller to track the reference current. Therefore, designing an accurate current controller is crucial to guarantee satisfactory SAPF operation.

A Self‐Supervised Machine Learning Approach for the Estimation of Open‐Circuit Voltage Degradation in Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, EarlyView.
This study introduces a self‐supervised machine learning approach integrating physics‐based principles to estimate open‐circuit voltage (voc$$ {v}_{oc} $$) degradation in photovoltaic systems using SCADA data. By combining clustering and regression algorithms, our method detects performance deviations without labelled datasets.
