The Mycobacterium tuberculosis Rv0132c Gene Product Mtb‐FGD2 Can Act as an F420‐Dependent Glucose Dehydrogenase

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of the cell envelope‐associated Rv0132c/FGD2 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis has long been a subject of debate. Importantly, FGD2 is found only in pathogenic mycobacteria, making it a potential drug target. While some suggest it functions as a glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase, others propose it acts instead as an F420‐dependent ...

The Impact of Dust Particles on the Function of Screen‐Printed Triple‐Mesoscopic Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Screen‐printed mesoporous carbon perovskite solar cells offer an accessible route to scalable green energy. This study investigates the impact of dust particle contamination during the manufacture of this type of solar cell. Results suggest clean rooms may be unnecessary if strict cleanliness is maintained during storage and printing processes in ...

A "Two Ahead" Predictive Controller for Active Shunt Power Filters

open access: yesIECON 2006 - 32nd Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2006
In this paper an improved predictive control is proposed for the control of the current in a three-phase voltage source converter. The application for this work is an active shunt power filter (ASF). The proposed control system takes into account unavoidable digital controller delays, which make it difficult to predict the ASF behaviour in the next ...

Kaempferol Protects Intestinal Health in Chinese Forest Musk Deer Possibly by Regulating Intestinal Microbiota and Inhibiting the NF‐κB/NLRP3 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Kaempferol modulates the tryptophan metabolism pathway by increasing the abundances of Christensenellaceae R7 group, Bacteroides, and Blautia and reducing that of Rikenellaceae RC9 gut group, thereby significantly increasing the levels of ILA and IAA. This process inhibits the activation of NF‐κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway, reduces pro‐inflammatory factor

Robust Harmonic Elimination Method for Various Load Conditions

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables
The present study implements a Direct Power Control (DPC) strategy to manage a photovoltaic (PV) system functioning as a shunt active power filter (shunt APF), aimed at providing reactive power compensation and mitigating harmonic currents while ...

Retinal oxygen saturation and retinal vessel diameter in glaucoma patients before and after trabeculectomy

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare retinal vessel oxygen saturations and diameters before, 1 and 3 months after trabeculectomy. Methods Retinal oxygen saturations and vessel diameters were obtained using retinal oximetry. The effect of the postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) decrease on the arteriovenous difference (AV‐difference) was evaluated ...

Optic nerve sheath meningioma exhibits neural niche‐associated transcriptomic features and rare copy number variation‐linked evolution

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Optic nerve sheath meningiomas are typically NF2‐intact with few copy number alterations and are generally clinically indolent. Rare aggressive recurrences are associated with progressive accumulation of copy number variations, including CDKN2A/B homozygous deletion, 1q gain, and 14q loss.

Hysteresis Control for Shunt Active Power Filter under Unbalanced Three-Phase Load Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2015
This paper focuses on a four-wire shunt active power filter (APF) control scheme proposed to improve the performance of the APF. This filter is used to compensate harmonic distortion in three-phase four-wire systems.

Association of Fontan Circulation With Gut Microbiome Derived Straight and Branched Short Chain Fatty Acids

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
Adults with Fontan circulation (n = 20) and matched controls underwent body composition, frailty testing, CPET, and NICaS hemodynamics. Plasma short‐chain fatty acids were quantified by LC–MS/MS. Fontan patients had higher straight and branched SCFAs, correlating with lower muscle mass, greater frailty, reduced VO2max, and worse resting/postexercise ...

Comparative proteomics analysis of root and nodule mitochondria of soybean

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
Abstract Legumes perform symbiotic nitrogen fixation through rhizobial bacteroids housed in specialised root nodules. The biochemical process is energy‐intensive and consumes a huge carbon source to generate sufficient reducing power. To maintain the symbiosis, malate is supplied by legume nodules to bacteroids as their major carbon and energy source ...
