Better performance for shunt active power filters

2011 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power (ICCEP), 2011
This paper proposes a time domain harmonic detection technique which is an improved a-b-c reference frame formula based upon the p-q theory with a positive sequence detector to solve the problem of bad performance of shunt active power filters (SAPF) under non-ideal mains.

The application of DSP in shunt active power filter

2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011
DSP chips are widely used in automatic control, mage processing, communications technology and other fields. In this paper, the application of DSP in shunt active power filter (SAPF) was discussed. Taken a DSP as the core controller, the experimental study on the SAPF was carried out, and the results of experiment were analyzed.

Shunt Active Power Filter and Its Application

2010 International Conference on Challenges in Environmental Science and Computer Engineering, 2010
With the extensive application of high-power switching devices, the quality of electric power is growing problem seriously, which causes the current (voltage) distortion, producing a large number of harmonics. This paper introduces the principle, structure, device development and the characteristics of active filter, and its application in power system

The Simulation and Analysis of the Shunt Active Power Filter

2010 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2010
Base on the characteristics of the shunt active power filter, we uses the power electronic devices of the MATLAB/Simulink to model the system, uses self-compiled S-function to carry out the ip-iq current detection algorithm. In order to compensate the harmonic currents generated by the non-linear load and the reactive power of the process, the PWM ...

Research on series-shunt compound control applying to shunt active power filter

2013 10th IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2013
The basic principle of shunt active power filter(SAPF) is that the output compensation current is equal to the harmonic current with reverse direction, the performances of SAPF contain dynamic response and static precision. Aiming at the defect of PI control applying to SAPF has low static precision, compound control method based on putting repetitive ...

A shunt active power filter: development of properties

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2004
Numerous types of shunt active power filters have been proposed in many papers. The classification of these filters depends on various points of view. However, every type of a shunt active filter, which compensates non-active component of load current, irrespective of the method used to detect this component and control strategies of the filter, should

A novel active damping method for LCL-filter-based shunt Active Power Filter

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012
Three-phase shunt Active Power Filters (APFs) are connected to the grid through inductance or LCL filter. Comparing to single L filter, LCL filter is more effective, e.g. better switching harmonics suppression and lower output impedance, but such solution causes stability problems. In order to assure stable operation either a damping resistor or active

Compensation of dead time effects for shunt active power filters

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
The paper presents a comprehensive approach to the compensation of the grid current distortion for shunt active power filter systems. Four different sources of current distortion are addressed: imperfect grid synchronization caused by the distortion in the grid voltages, time delays in the estimation of compensating currents and grid voltages ...

A noble transformer coupled shunt active hybrid power filter

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
This paper proposes a reduced voltage transformer based hybrid active power filter topology. It is a combination of two inverters with a split dc link voltage. The dc link voltage of the HFI is reduced by the transformer's turn ratio. Both the inverters are connected in shunt with the non linear load.
